Verses mentioned about fasting.

The triliteral root ṣād wāw mīm (ص و م) occurs 14 times in the Quran, in five derived forms:
twice as the form I verb yaṣum (يَصُمْ)
once as the noun ṣawm (صَوْم)
nine times as the noun ṣiyām (صِيَام)
once as the active participle ṣāimāt (صَّآئِمَٰت)
once as the active participle ṣāimīn (صَّآئِمِين)

Verb (form I) - to fast

(2:184:27) taṣūmū fast فَمَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ وَأَنْ تَصُومُوا خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ
(2:185:17) falyaṣum'hu then he should fast in it فَمَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ

(33:35:17) wal-ṣāimāti and the women who fast وَالصَّائِمَاتِ وَالْحَافِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَالْحَافِظَاتِ

(33:35:16) wal-ṣāimīna and the men who fast وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقَاتِ وَالصَّائِمِينَ

if only Allah they noticed that the earth is a sphere. . .

I believe this is the only verse in the Quran that mention fasting is about not taking "food and drink", ie. 2.187. . other verses are about husband and wife, or sexual relationship etc

2.187 wrote:

fasting (الصِّيَامِ) nights (لَيْلَةَ) for you (لَكُمْ) Permitted (أُحِلَّ)
.your wives (نِسَائِكُمْ) to (إِلَىٰ) the approach (الرَّفَثُ) <- main subject matter

for you (لَّكُمْ) garments (لِبَاسٌ) They ( ۚ هُنَّ)
.for them (لَّهُنَّ) garments (لِبَاسٌ) and you (وَأَنتُمْ)

yourselves (أَنفُسَكُمْ) deceive (تَخْتَانُونَ) used to (كُنتُمْ) that you (أَنَّكُمْ) Allah (اللَّهُ) Knows ( ۗ عَلِمَ)
.you (عَنكُمْ) and He forgave (وَعَفَا) towards you (عَلَيْكُمْ) so He turned (فَتَابَ)

have relations with them (بَاشِرُوهُنَّ) So now (فَالْآنَ)
.for you (لَكُمْ ۚ) Allah (اللَّهُ) has ordained (كَتَبَ) what (مَا) and seek (وَابْتَغُوا)

                  And eat (وَكُلُوا) <- the story diverted, I believe it does not mean "eat and drink"
                  and drink (وَاشْرَبُوا)
                  to you (لَكُمُ) becomes distinct (يَتَبَيَّنَ) until (حَتَّىٰ)
                  .dawn (الْفَجْرِ) of (مِنَ) black (الْأَسْوَدِ) the thread (الْخَيْطِ) from (مِنَ) white (الْأَبْيَضُ) the thread (الْخَيْطُ)
                  .the night (اللَّيْلِ) till (إِلَى) the fast (الصِّيَامَ) complete (أَتِمُّوا) Then (ثُمَّ)

have relations with them (تُبَاشِرُوهُنَّ) And not (وَلَا)
.the masajid (الْمَسَاجِدِ) in (فِي) secluded (عَاكِفُونَ) while you (وَأَنتُمْ) <- anyone dare to do this?   
.approach them (تَقْرَبُوهَا) so not (فَلَا) Allah (اللَّهِ) limits (حُدُودُ) These (تِلْكَ)

His verses (آيَاتِهِ) Allah (اللَّهُ) makes clear (يُبَيِّنُ) Thus (كَذَٰلِكَ)
.righteous (يَتَّقُونَ) so that they may (لَعَلَّهُمْ) for people (لِلنَّاسِ
